Responsabilities

With any degree of freedom comes a similar degree of responsibility, neglect that responsibility and the freedom will be lost.  If we don't maintain ourselves we lose ourselves.

Critical human responsibilities refer to the actions and behaviours that are essential for individuals to fulfil their roles as members of society and to ensure the well-being of themselves and others. Some examples of critical human responsibilities include:

  1. Compliance with laws and regulations: This includes following local, national, and international laws and regulations, as well as respecting the rights of others and protecting public safety.

  2. Fulfilling civic duties: This includes participating in the democratic process, paying taxes, and serving on juries, as well as engaging in community service and volunteering.

  3. Providing for oneself and one's family: This includes working to support oneself and one's family financially, as well as taking care of one's physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

  4. Protecting the environment: This includes taking steps to conserve natural resources and reduce pollution, as well as promoting sustainable practices and protecting biodiversity.

  5. Acting ethically: This includes treating others with respect, fairness and integrity, and taking responsibility for one's actions and decisions.

  6. Respecting the rights of others: This includes protecting the rights of others, promoting equality and tolerance, and opposing discrimination and injustice.

  7. Promoting peace and security: This includes working to resolve conflicts peacefully and protecting human rights, as well as supporting international efforts to maintain peace and security.

  8. Educating oneself: This includes acquiring the knowledge and skills needed to fully participate in society, as well as continuously learning and growing.

It's important to note that these responsibilities are not exhaustive, and the specific responsibilities of an individual will depend on the individual's role, context and circumstances. Additionally, the fulfilment of these responsibilities can be influenced by a range of factors including culture, religion, socioeconomic status, and individual circumstances.

My responsibilities as a human adult living in a civilised society are:

  • to keep my body in good working order.
  • to keep my mind in good working order.
  • to understand the world I live in.
  • to create a happy and healthy sustainable life without causing harm to others.
  • to communicate effectively with others.
  • to organise time in order to achieve goals
  • to lead or follow with a clear understanding of duties.

The list can go on depending on personal standards.

We should challenge our own beliefs as much or even more as any others.

Without a civilising upbringing humans are potential dangerous wild animals. We see ample examples of savage human behaviour, even in the "civilised" western 21st century countries.

Recognise your positive hopes and dreams then make it your responsibility to bring them into reality.

Facing fears immediately head on usually evaporates the source of the fear, quite often completely.

The fear you hold inside is fear in itself, it is terrified of you.
